Discrimination, Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training

The Tufts Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) provides a mandatory training for all First Year undergraduate students and new graduate students regarding discrimination, harassment and sexual misconduct prevention.  The training is part of pre-orientation for First Year undergrads and is generally completed during the summer before arriving at Tufts. Graduate students take the training as part of their School's orientation program - training dates vary by school.

The Tufts Discrimination, Harassment and Sexual Misconduct Prevention Training is a 5-module, asynchronous training that covers the University's Non-Discrimination Policy and Sexual Misconduct Policy, as well as affirmative consent, reporting, and resources. Students access the training on Canvas, a University-wide learning management system (LMS).

If you are a First Year undergrad, you will receive information about the training as part of your pre-orientation checklist during the summer before you arrive.  You will also receive communication directly from OEO. You will be expected to complete the training before you arrive on campus for orientation.

If you are a new graduate student, you will receive information about the training from your individual graduate school or program as well as OEO.

If you have questions about the student training, contact OEOtraining@tufts.edu

Captioning Policy

To ensure that all videos and audio files created, procured, and posted on official Tufts websites are accessible to all, Tufts Technology Services, in partnership with the Student Accessibility & Academic Resource Center (StAAR), Educational Technology, the Office of Equal Opportunity, the Tisch Library, and University Counsel, developed a Captioning Policy. This policy applies to all videos and audio files created or posted after June 30, 2022, and requires that all videos and audio files created for use by the university community include closed captioning. To learn how to do this, please visit the Captioning Policy page. For most videos and audio files at Tufts, closed captioning is easy to do and costs nothing.
