Mandatory Training on Discrimination and Harassment Prevention

Tufts University is committed to providing a safe and positive workplace for all students, staff and faculty. In order to help achieve this goal and to comply with university, state and federal policies and regulations, Tufts’ Office of Equal Opportunity (OEO) provides mandatory training regarding discrimination and harassment prevention. All staff and faculty (full-time, part-time & temporary) and student employees who have not already attended are required to participate.

The Discrimination and Harassment Prevention Training workshop is offered each semester on each campus to ensure that new employees and existing employees who have not yet attended this training are able to fulfill this mandatory requirement.

Trainings will take place in a confidential Zoom learning environment that includes lecture, small group discussions, and other interactive activities. The 2.5 hour training covers topics related to the following Tufts policies:

Captioning Policy

To ensure that all videos and audio files created, procured, and posted on official Tufts websites are accessible to all, Tufts Technology Services, in partnership with the Student Accessibility & Academic Resource Center (StAAR), Educational Technology, the Office of Equal Opportunity, the Tisch Library, and University Counsel, developed a Captioning Policy. This policy applies to all videos and audio files created or posted after June 30, 2022, and requires that all videos and audio files created for use by the university community include closed captioning. To learn how to do this, please visit the Captioning Policy page. For most videos and audio files at Tufts, closed captioning is easy to do and costs nothing.
